Editorial standards

How Attributed researches, writes, reviews and corrects the field notes published in our Resources library.

Who writes

Field notes in the Attributed Resources library are written by Josh Tulip, Founder, with input from the Attributed team. Each article carries a named byline rather than a generic editorial credit.

How we research

Articles draw from three sources: first-hand work on ecommerce stacks (Shopify, Shopify Plus, headless), patterns we observe continuously across stores connected to Attributed, and primary documentation from the platforms we write about — Google, Meta, Shopify, Klaviyo, Baymard Institute. We do not republish third-party research without attribution.

How we review

Every article carries a published date and a last reviewed date. We review the full library on a rolling quarterly cadence, and any article that touches a fast-moving area — privacy rules, platform APIs, ad-account behaviour — is re-checked sooner. When platform behaviour changes materially, we update the article in place and bump the reviewed date.

Sources and citations

Where claims rest on external numbers — checkout abandonment percentages, ad-blocker share, platform-specific event behaviour — we cite the source inline and link out. Where claims rest on patterns we see across customers, we say so explicitly ("in the stacks we audit", "we routinely see"). Vague appeals to "studies show" do not appear in our work.

AI use

AI tools may be used for drafting outlines and proofing copy. They are not used to generate facts, statistics or first-hand experience claims. Every article is written, reviewed and signed off by a named human author.

Corrections policy

If we get something wrong, we fix it in place and add a short correction note at the bottom of the article. If a correction materially changes the conclusion, we say so at the top. To report a correction, email hello@attributed.io.

Independence

Attributed is a commercial product. Our articles recommend approaches we believe in, including approaches that are not what Attributed sells. We disclose when an article is making the case for a category of tool, and we name competitors and alternatives where relevant.

Reuse

You are welcome to quote our work with attribution and a link back to the source article. For full republication, please contact us first.
